Collecting
Samples

Sample collection technique, proper preservation, and timely transport are as important as the analytical protocol in producing data that represents the source at the time of collection. Lab results represent the sample as it arrives at the lab. If samples were not properly collected, preserved, and delivered, the sample may not represent the source or meet regulatory protocol.
Lab analyses are expensive. We want your sample to accurately represent the sample source. Some samples need to be shipped on ice. Some should be collected and field filtered without air contact. Certain tests require bottles with pre-dispensed preservatives. Still, others might require compositing to represent an extended time period or a stream cross-section.
We know the proper protocol. If in doubt, please call our staff to be sure.
