RONALD K. KRUEGER, Founder and Chairman of the Board

 Ron Krueger founded Northern Lake Service in 1974 and, while less involved in day-to-day operations, he continues to provide valuable oversight of numerous management issues and serves as chairman of the NLS board of directors. 

 Ron's environmental experience spans 40 years and includes conducting biological and chemical surveys and coordination of waste disposal programs in the paper industry; drainage basin surveys and administration of aquatic nuisance control programs in Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources  Lake Michigan District; and lake management consultation and field investigation for over 30 lake districts while at NLS. He served as president and CEO for 27 years, stepping down in 2000.

 Ron holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and General Science from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. He is a member of the American Water Well Association and the Wisconsin Ground Water Association.

RONALD T. KRUEGER (R.T), President and Chief Executive Officer

 R.T. provides management of day-to-day company operations, working with the lab manager, supervisors, QC, Marketing, LIMS, and Client Services to assure that clients needs are met quickly, accurately, and efficiently.

 R.T. has many years of experience in environmental analysis and field sample collection. He began as a "dad's helper" in early grade school. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Earth Sciences from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, he continued to learn a variety of technical skills working as a field technician, inorganic analyst, groundwater monitoring crew chief, and limnologist, before assuming the Laboratory Manager position in 1996. He moved up to president of NLS in 2000.

 R.T. is a member of the Wisconsin Ground Water Association. He has also been active in the Wisconsin Environmental Laboratory Association and was the president of that organization from 1999 - 2003. He presently sits on Wisconsin's NR149 Revision Advisory Committee.

Aaron Joined NLS in August 2007.  He brings with him over 14 years of experience in business management, sales and marketing experience working for market leaders in the service and manufacturing sector as well as having owned his own business for 7 years.  Aaron holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. 

Aaron is a member of the client services group, focusing on new business development, customer service initiatives, and serving as the company’s “voice of the customer.”  He has a passion for serving customers and working with them to develop programs that are specific to their individual needs. 

Aaron is a member of the Wisconsin Ground Water Association, Federation of Environmetal Technologists, Wisconsin Laboratory Association, American Well Water Association, Central States Water Environmental Association, American Water Resources Association and Wisconsin Wastewater Operators Association. 

TOM PRIEBE, Quality Assurance Officer and Safety Officer  

 Tom provides supervision of NLS's Inorganics Department including metals and wet chemistry parameters.  His comprehensive background in metals analysis also allows him to specialize in troubleshooting analytical interferences in complex waste matrices.

 He has experience with a large waste disposal company, as well as with the WDNR where he was involved with field sampling, analysis, and maintenance.

 Tom holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Water Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, and has completed the 40 hours training in Health, Safety & Management of Hazardous Materials per 29 CFR 1910.120.  He has over 16 years of experience.

CLARE G. RUSSELL, Business Manager

 Clare oversees the accounting functions and generates monthly and annual financial reports. He also handles most of the human resources functions including payroll and health, disability and property insurance.

 Clare has a background of more than 18 years in the accounting, financial service, and tax preparation fields. He spent the early part of his career as superintendent of an electrical generating facility in Alaska after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire.

CHRIS GESKE, LIMS Manager

 Chris manages the programming, operation, and maintenance of  NLS's Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). He also oversees the operation and maintenance of instrument data systems and networks.  Chris has over 16 years of experience programming and troubleshooting LIMS systems.

 Chris works closely with the Laboratory Manager and the Quality Assurance Officer, as well as with other departments. He attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering and has an Associate degree in Electronics from North Central Wisconsin Technical College.

ANDREW J. OSTROWSKI, Environmental Scientist/Client Services

 Andy provides most client service activities, such as quotations, data package review, project management and subcontractor liaison. He also has over 15 years of field sampling experience, specializing in the collection of groundwater, wastewater, and soil, and provides general oversight of those services at NLS.

 Andy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Water Resources, Chemistry, and Soil Science from UW Stevens Point.  He has also attended WDWA seminars and has completed OSHA's required 40-hour HazWaste Site Training.  Andy is a member of the Wisconsin Ground Water Association. 

TRACY M. HUBER, Client Services Representative

 Tracy Huber has over 16 of experience at Northern Lake Service interacting directly with clients.  Tracy is actively involved in all laboratory - client communications, subcontractor management, project initiation and progress, and assists in quotations.  Prior to joining the Client Service Department she supervised sample receiving and bottle shipments.  Tracy completed course studies at Nicolet College towards an Administrative Assistant Associates Degree.  She has also attended seminars covering a variety of Office Management and Client Service Representative skills.

DAWN M. DREHER, Office Coordinator / Purchasing Agent

 Dawn coordinates the day-to-day operations of the Northern Lake Service office, including scheduling, communications, invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable and filing.  Dawn also conducts and monitors the corporate purchasing functions for the evaluation, purchase, and receipt of all laboratory and field supplies.  She has 22 years of office experience and administration, with 15 of those years served at NLS.  Dawn has completed several office operations and administration seminars and is a member of the American Purchasing Society.

CRAIG S. CASELTON,  Chemist - Semi-Volatiles Supervisor

 Craig Caselton provides supervision of the semi-volatile department and conducts analyses for Pesticides and PCBs by gas chromatography and PAH's by HPLC.  He has over 10 years of analytical experience working with various purge and trap systems for the GRO/PVOC compounds as well as Pesticides and PCBs. He has been directly involved in or overseen the development of nearly ten new semivolatiles methods in his time at NLS. Craig holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Water Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point.

RUSS A. WOLFF, Chemist - Volatiles Supervisor

 Russ Wolff provides supervision of the volatiles department and conducts analyses for both volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds by gas chromatography and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. Russ has been instrumental in integrating our instrumentation and computer systems.  He has also recently been in the development of a number of new methods. Russ has over 13 years of analytical experience working with various purge and trap systems in areas of Gasoline Range Organics/Petroleum Volatile Organic Compounds, and Volatile Organic Compounds.  Russ holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Northland College - Ashland.   

STEVE HEFTER, Inorganics Supervisor

 Steve has been with NLS for 10 years.   In that time he has developed a high level of proficiency on a number of metals and wet chemistry instruments.  He developed our ion chromatography capabilities and remains our primary chemist on those instruments. Steve holds a Bachelors degree in aquatic toxicology from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point.

DOUGLAS M. JENNINGS, Chemist - Inorganics Department

 Doug Jennings has over 22 years of experience analyzing metals in environmental samples using a variety of analytical techniques.  He currently analyzes various matrices for metals, using AA-flame, AA-graphite furnace, AA/AF-cold vapor and ICP techniques.  Doug graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry/Biology.  His experience includes analysis of samples from USDOD and USDOE programs under CLP and GLP requirements. 

 Most recently Doug developed NLS's Low Level Mercury program which is capable of detecting mercury at sub-part per trillion levels.

MICHAEL TIENOR, Chemist - Semivolatiles

 Mike has charge of nitrogen / phosphorus pesticides at Northern Lake Service along with a number of drinking water SOC methods.  He has been with NLS for 6 years.  Mike holds a Bachelors degree in Environmental Science from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay and has also completed OSHA 40-hr Hazardous Waste Certification.
