Not many environmental labs can boast more than a quarter century of continuous service to a satisfied and loyal clientele.  Yet, 2008 marks the 34th anniversary of Northern Lake Service, Inc. (NLS), a family owned environmental lab located in the heart of Wisconsin's northwoods.   From humble beginnings to one of the larger environmental laboratories in the Midwest, NLS continues to offer the newest analytical technologies, a small-town level of service, and what we think is the best value in the marketplace.  We began operations in 1974 to provide analytical and consulting support for Wisconsin's Inland Lake Renewal Program. Under that program NLS conducted comprehensive lake studies requiring collection, analysis, and interpretation of groundwater and surface water samples, along with hydrological and biological investigations to determine water quality and lake management alternatives for about 30 Wisconsin lakes. It was under this program that our reputation for analytical expertise and accurate results became recognized and grew. Since that time, our lab capabilities have grown and we have become one of the larger full service labs in Wisconsin. We are large enough to have a comfortable level of redundancy of instrumentation and staff, but still compact enough to offer the personalized level of service expected from a smaller organization.

NLS  continues to provide new environmental services in response to client needs. Procedures and methods are chosen to meet regulatory requirements and to provide the most accurate and precise information in the most efficient and timely manner. Consequently, our  list of over 600 satisfied clients includes various industries, landfills, municipal waste treatment plants, public water utilities, government agencies, consulting firms, and private parties.
